Build
90 days

From brief to a finance application ready to use.

Asset types
4

Cash, Open Banking accounts, mortgages and crypto, together.

Portfolio view
1 currency

The whole portfolio converted, whatever each holding is held in.

The problem

The money was all there. The true picture was not.

Wealth rarely sits in one place.

Cash, bank accounts, property debt and crypto live in different apps and statements, often in different currencies. Working out what you actually own means spreadsheets and guesswork.

Even with a rough total, it is hard to tell how the portfolio is really changing. Exchange rates move, balances move, and a single number says nothing about risk or performance.

Who it was for

People who needed a global view of their wealth.

The application was built for people holding assets across different types and currencies who wanted to see everything in one place and understand how it was changing.

What I built

A global wealth tracker, ready in 90 days.

  1. 01

    Cash

Cash holdings recorded alongside everything else.

  2. 02

    Bank accounts via Open Banking

Accounts connected through Open Banking rather than typed in by hand.

  3. 03

    Mortgages

Property debt included, so the picture reflects what is owed as well as what is owned.

  4. 04

    Crypto

Crypto holdings tracked next to traditional assets.

One currency for the whole portfolio. Whatever currency each holding is held in, the whole portfolio converts into the same currency, so totals and comparisons make sense.

Hedge-fund metrics. Detailed analytics of how the portfolio changes over time, using metrics used by hedge funds, so the user sees performance and risk, not only a balance.

Data and decisions

Clear jobs on both sides.

The application’s job

  • Bring cash, Open Banking accounts, mortgages and crypto into one portfolio
  • Convert every holding into the chosen currency
  • Track how the portfolio changes over time
  • Apply hedge-fund metrics to analyse that change

The user’s job

  • Connect accounts and add the holdings they own
  • Choose the currency they want to see everything in
  • Read the analytics and understand what is driving change
  • Make the financial decisions themselves
The pattern

Unify it, convert it, then measure it properly.

If your users have information scattered across providers, formats or currencies, this is the shape: bring every source into one model, put it on a common footing, then give people an institutional-grade view of how it is changing.

One clear number from messy data?

That is an MVP with a sharp core loop. Let’s talk about yours and whether an AI Engineering package is the right fit.
